Hair Transplantation – What to Expect
A hair transplant is an operation in which your doctor removes hair follicles from a part of the scalp called the donor area and transplants them to a thinning or balding area on the head. The procedure is usually done in several sessions spaced 3-6 months apart.
Before you undergo the procedure, your surgeon will discuss your expectations and explain what to expect from your results. You will also be given instructions for post-procedure care. 압구정모발이식
Your doctor will start the procedure by numbing your scalp with medication. Then, they will use a tube-like instrument to punch round grafts from the donor site to be placed in the area where you want hair restored.
During the procedure, you may feel some discomfort, but it is not painful and does not last long. After the hair grafts are removed, your surgeon will put bandages over your scalp to keep it clean and dry. Your doctor will tell you how long to wear the bandages.
Next, the surgeon will take a small strip of your scalp and cut it into 500 to 2,000 tiny grafts. Some of these grafts contain one or two hairs, while others are large and contain many hairs. The grafts will be used to restore lost hair on the front of your head, the top of your head, or anywhere else that you want to fill in a bald spot.
The grafts are usually stored in a liquid solution (such as saline) to prevent dehydration and oxygen loss. This helps them stay healthy and function as they should.
Once the grafts are ready, your surgeon will carefully insert each one into a hole in the donor site. Your surgeon will get help from other members of the team to make sure the grafts are properly placed.
After the procedure, your surgeon will give you a prescription for antibiotics to take for the first few days after the procedure. You will also need to take some pain medications. Then, you will be able to return to work and normal activities.
What to expect from your hair restoration after the procedure
Your new hair growth will be slow, but it will begin within a month. You will notice a few strands of hair that fall out, which is normal and expected. This is called telogen effluvium and usually goes away after about six months.
You might need to see your doctor again after this period of time to check on your progress. This will help your doctor ensure that your grafts are taking well and that the results are natural-looking. 모우다의원
When your transplanted hair begins to grow, it will look natural and blend in with the rest of your hair. You will need to avoid harsh shampoos and combs because this can cause your new hair to become damaged and not function as it should.
You will need to see your doctor again in a few years after your procedure to see the results. Your doctor will also be able to explain any problems you might have that could interfere with your grafts. These might include a poor fit of the grafts, thinning hair around the grafts, or scarring from the procedure.
