The Most Common Infertility Procedure
The most common infertility procedure is in vitro fertilization (IVF). This is a form of assisted reproductive technology (ART), which means medically-guided fertility treatment. It is most often used when other fertility treatments have failed.
In vitro fertilization involves joining a woman’s eggs to sperm outside of her body in a laboratory dish. The resulting embryos are then injected into her uterus to implant. When the embryo implants and begins to grow, pregnancy results.
IVF is considered a safe, effective procedure and has an excellent track record in helping couples become pregnant. It is also more likely to produce a healthy baby if the couple has a high degree of sex equality and there are no underlying health conditions that affect the sperm production or fertilization. 시험관아기
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is another form of ART that may be done in cases where there are male factors that prevent fertility.
The ICSI technique uses a single sperm sample that is picked up using a fine glass micro needle and injected into the egg cytoplasm. It is a relatively inexpensive treatment that increases the chance of successful fertilization.
PGD (preimplantation genetic diagnosis) is a type of fertility testing that may be used to increase a person’s chances of conceiving by analyzing the genes that make up the embryo. The test decreases the possibility that a child will be born with an inherited disease or defect.
Endometriosis is a condition that causes tissue to grow on the inside lining of the uterus. This can cause problems with fertility. Surgery to remove endometriosis is a surgical treatment that is often performed with IVF.
Uterine fibroids are benign lumps that can distort the uterine cavity and make it difficult for a woman to get pregnant. These lumps can be removed by a minimally invasive surgery called myomectomy or by a more extensive operation that is typically performed under abdominal, hysteroscopic or laparoscopic approaches.
If a woman has fibroids, her doctor can remove them with surgery or through radiofrequency, heating, freezing or other means of cutting the blood supply to the fibroid so that it dies and shrinks. Other options for fibroids include myolysis, where the fibroid is killed with heat, vapor or chemicals.
Other surgeries that can help with infertility are ovarian cyst removal and laparoscopic tubal resection. These surgeries can be a part of an IVF cycle and are performed at the same time as IVF or a few days after the IVF is complete.
Reproductive surgery can be a complex procedure that requires a large team of specialists to perform, which makes it costly. It is important to select a specialist who has experience in performing the surgery. 난임시술
The procedure can be performed in the hospital or in a clinic. It usually takes no more than a half hour and is painless.
A woman’s ovaries are stimulated to produce more than normal eggs, which is why it is also called “egg stimulation.” The ovaries are then removed and the eggs are fertilized with sperm in a laboratory dish.
